Club meeting April 12th

Hello members,
We had a good club meeting today. It was a smaller group only eight people. Several of our members were at the Trail Ambassadors meeting at the Waterfall Inn in Nisswa. Brian Mathison our vice president ran the meeting. Our club received a letter from the Brainerd Jaycees dated March 31.
Congratulation, you have been selected to receive donation from the Brainerd Jaycees Ice Fishing Extravaganza! On behalf of the Brainerd Jaycees, they appreciate our continued interest and support of the Ice fishing extravaganza. Several members from our club volunteered Jan 24th to help with the event. Good job members!
We received good news also from the county. We will be receiving grant in aid funding for the Miller Black Bear trails. Our grant permit will go the county on April 22nd to be signed.
We will be working on the trail area starting next mouth. Stay tuned more information is coming.

Our next club meeting is May12th at 9am. We are riding the Pine Center trails.

Miller Black Bear trail

This multiple use trail area is located about 6 miles west of the cities of Crosby and Ironton.

The trail is approximately 19 miles and travels over 4000 acres of rolling hills with scenic overlooks of the Mississippi river to the west. The trail travels to the south, crosses Sunde road, makes two large trail loops in the forest and returns. To the north, the trail will travel to a scenic overlook of the Mississippi river with a picnic table and grill. The trail continues to the Cole Lake shelter and parking area where it ends.  There will be trail kiosks and picnic tables with grills located at both trail heads. The main trail head, at section six mine pit lake, will have a portable restroom.

The Cuyuna Iron Range Rider ATV club will begin signing and maintaining this trail area beginning in the spring of 2014. The trail will be open May 1st to October 31st

From Crosby/ Ironton; take county road 30 from Ironton to county road 34. Turn left onto 34, just past the Trommald city sign. Follow 34 to Iverson road turn and turn left, stay on the dirt road until you come to the first right. Turn right and follow this dirt road to the section six pit lake and parking area. Riders can park and unload there.
