Hi Everyone,
Our next club meeting is this coming Saturday April 10, 9 am at the Ironton Legion, 232 4th Street. Please note the time change. All of our meetings until October we will now start at 9 am.
I’m cancelling the pancake breakfast this month, we will plan on doing that some other time. The weather looks partly sunny and mid 50’s for Saturday. Let’s get out and work on the trails, if the weather is permitting. Jason is going to bring his skid steer and spread the tailings, we had delivered last fall. Please bring some hand tools, tree trimmer, chain saw, rakes, shovels, we will clean up any brush or downed trees. We will replace any missing trail signs too and clean up around the picnic sites and pick up trash.
Keep track of hours worked, Russ needs that so our club gets reimbursed. Also keep track of your gas mileage on your vehicle and your 4 wheeler. They are allowable grant in aid expenses. You will get reimbursed. If you are bringing equipment please contact, Russ he has the allowable rates from the DNR, he can help figure that out for you. H 218-825-0441 C 218-851-4227.
I have a small gas grill and I will bring some hotdogs and buns, lets grill hotdogs on the trail. Bring something to share if you want. Keep it simple.
Last month we had some good discussions about getting a safe trail route into Crosby Ironton and connecting the Miller Black Bear Trail and the Mississippi Northwoods together. Doug Houge Crow Wing County Commissioner, Dale Lueck our state representative, Jim Hunter Crosby Mayor, and Greg Stanich Ironton Mayor, and Gary Griffin Crow Wing County Lands Services were there. The meeting was very positive.
Next month we are having club elections for vice president, treasurer and one board member. I will take nominations.
We also collect our club dues in May, $15.00 for individual and $20.00 for family, Business’s are $35.00. You can pay at the meeting. This will make it easier on the Treasure, so she won’t have to do all of them next month. If you are sending a check, please make it payable to Cuyuna Iron Range Riders and mail it to P.O. 301 Crosby, MN 56441-301
Tim Sink sent me a message our next club meeting and ride is May 8th, at the Moose River trails. They are closed until May 15th, lets pick another trail.
