August 14, 2021 – ATV Club Meeting and Ride

Hi Everyone, Our next club meeting and ride is Saturday August 14th, 9 a.m. at the Ironton Legion, 232 4th Street.

We are riding the UPM Blandin trail. We will park behind Harry’s restaurant & bar in Hill City. 137 Gill Street South Hill City, MN 55748. Bring your own lunch, snacks and beverages for the ride, we will stop somewhere along the trail to eat.

Please welcome our new members, Joe Horgen, Mike & Michelle Melenich, Justin Wheeler, Jaxqui Marano. I look forward to meeting you. Thank you for joining us.

Several club members rode in the Crosby July 4th parade, Andy pulled a trailer with our club banners and a banner for the Because of Brandon Charity ride. We made the Brainerd Dispatch.

We did not have a club meeting last month, we rode the Big Aspen trails in Britt, MN. We had a great turnout from our club, 27 people came and there were 14 machines. We had a pot luck picnic lunch at the trail head, Andy & I grilled burgers, brats and hot dogs. A couple of our members came up the night before and camped at the trail head. It was a nice trail area to ride. We should plan more of these trail camping and grilling rides, everyone had fun.

Our club held our third annual Because of Brandon ATV charity ride on July 24th at the Mississippi River Northwoods Trail area, 35 people with 19 machines came out to support the cause. I spoke to the group about our club and the two trails areas we manage and thanked everyone for coming. Commissioner Doug Houge gave an update on the charity event, Amy Hart Interim Chief Executive Officer of the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center spoke to the group and Commissioner Steve Barrows was in attendance. Our club is making a $250.00 donation to support Because of Brandon juvenile diabetes education. Several of the people that came were type one and two diabetics. After the guest speakers, we broke up into two groups, Andy & Russ guided the rides. For lunch we had sandwiches, chips, zucchini bars, brownies and beverages. The sandwiches came from Super One, made by Jennifer Jarvela. They were great and people commented how good they were. Great job Jennifer!  Jason’s Mom made pan of tasty zucchini bars. After everyone ate we counted all of the donations. Our club raised $2,700 for the charity event. GREAT JOB everyone for your support and donations. It was a really fun day and the weather was perfect.

Please support our club business members. Crosby Ironton Courier, Cuyuna Lakes Chamber of Commerce, & RPM Recreational PowerSports Marine of Emily.
