Hi Everyone,

Our next club meeting is Saturday August 13th, 9 am at the Ironton Legion, 232 4th Street. We are riding trails in the Emily Outing area, for the Suicide Awareness/Riding with Rory. I’m going to send everyone a 2nd email (RE: Ride with Rory) with all the information from Karla Stiernagle Rory’s Mom, with all the event information. We will meet at the Channel Bar & Grill in Outing, 448 MN -6.
Suicide Awareness/Riding with Rory

We held our 4th Annual Because of Brandon Juvenile Diabetes Ride on July 23rd. There were 42 machines and around 80 people who came out to support the cause. We raised $3,021 dollars. It was a great turnout. A big shout out to the all the club members, you helped make it a big success.

Russ our grant manager has resigned his position. We appreciate all the years and time he dedicated to our club. He will still stay active with the club and work with a new person to fill that role. Our club maintains the Miller Black Bear and the Mississippi River Northwoods trails. Having a person for each trail area would be helpful.

Our Club had a booth at the Crow Wing County Fair this past week with the Central Lakes ATV Club. We handed out a lot of trail atlases, club information and signed up some new members. Thank you to all the volunteers.

ATV Charity Ride “Because of Brandon” July 23rd

Hi Everyone,

Our club is hosting an ATV Charity Ride for Juvenile Diabetes “Because of Brandon” on July 23rd at 9 am, behind the FireShack Restaurant, 101 4th Street Ironton.  I need volunteers to help with the event.  We will start setting up at 7 am.  I need help setting up our pop ups, hanging banners, sign posts, directing people to park and unload at the high school and where they need to line up.

Commissioner Doug Houge will speak to the group about 9:45 am.  The guided rides will leave by 10 am, to the Miller Black Bear Trail area.  The Deerwood Police and the Fire Departments will be there to help with the public safety, and they will guide people down County Road 30 and 34 to Iverson Road.

I would like your help taking people for a guided ride around the Miller Black Trail area.  We will break the riders into smaller groups for the ride and bring them back around 1 pm for a lunch special at the FireShack.  After lunch we will add up the donations and hand the money to Doug and take pictures.

McDaddy’s Donut Garage is offering free donuts in the morning.  I will have a donation bucket at both businesses.  On line donations can be made at http://brandon2022.givesmart.com please save the date and let’s raise some money for Juvenile Diabetes Education.  I will send everyone a reminder next week.  If you can volunteer, please email me back.

Crosby July 4th Parade and Pot Luck Update

As we have mentioned we are riding in the Crosby July 4th parade at 11 am. We will get our line up number from one of the firemen in front of the legion and line up somewhere behind the Legion. You can decorate your machine as patriotic as you like.

Let’s gather at the Wille’s at 9 am, to leave for Ironton by 9:30 a.m., it always takes a little time to get organized.

After the parade Dave & Mary Wille, are inviting everyone over to their home for pot luck and a bonfire afterwards. (23695 Oak Lane, Deerwood) From Hwy 210 take Agate Shores Road, turn right at the T, to the second street on the left. If you have family visiting they are welcome to join us. There is plenty of parking at their home and you can unload there and we can drive directly to the parade.

Jenny is bringing smoked ham for sandwiches and sloppy Joe’s will be provided. Please bring a dish to share, your own beverages and a lawn chair.

You can decorate your machine as patriotic as you like. Show your red white and blue, lets make a big presence. I will send out another reminder when it gets closer to the 4th.
